Job Title: Call for Newcomers Coordinator
Job Purpose: To coordinate, schedule and manage the Newcomers Workshop at the conference.
Duties:
- Work with the EV Coordinator to:
- Schedule the workshop
- Get a list of hardware specs and installed software
- Recruit/organize volunteer assistants
- Set up mechanism for issuing and taking tickets
- Create handouts
- Plan and conduct workshop
Timeline:
During conference beginning of year:
Talk with the EV Coordinator about timing and number of workshops
Summer:
Fall:
Make sure time and date are established
Spring:
- Recruit assistants (if not done by someone else)
- Plan workshop
- Create handouts
- Get a list of hardware specs and installed software
- Make sure a mechanism for issuing and taking tickets is in place
During Conference end of year:
- Conduct workshop
- Recruit new coordinator
