Newcomers Workshop

Job Title: Call for Newcomers Coordinator

Job Purpose: To coordinate, schedule and manage the Newcomers Workshop at the conference.

Duties:

  • Work with the EV Coordinator to:
    • Schedule the workshop
    • Get a list of hardware specs and installed software
    • Recruit/organize volunteer assistants
    • Set up mechanism for issuing and taking tickets
  • Create handouts
  • Plan and conduct workshop

Timeline:

During conference beginning of year:

Talk with the EV Coordinator about timing and number of workshops

Summer:

Fall:

Make sure time and date are established

Spring:

  • Recruit assistants (if not done by someone else)
  • Plan workshop
  • Create handouts
  • Get a list of hardware specs and installed software
  • Make sure a mechanism for issuing and taking tickets is in place

During Conference end of year:

  • Conduct workshop
  • Recruit new coordinator
